Choose an original way to spend a Sunday in February: choose the snow, the nature, choose the Apennines.
Before leaving, look at the Park website, check out the weather conditions and have a look at the panorama through the webcams.

The mountains in winter are beautiful regardless of the mountain conditions, but the strategy must be adequate: if it's sunny, it is better to bring something to eat in order to stay longer outdoor and enjoy snow and nature in some sheltered place, if it is snowing or it is cloudy, it is better to continue walking, reach the destination, and stop in some characteristic restaurant of the Park.
It's time of snow shoes: simple, light, "proletarian", easy to use in any situation. Snow shoes are the queens of the winter Apennines. Of course, their "spermatozoon shape" has not the elegance of the ski track, but just think about the morning, when you must prepare your things to leave. You can just throw them into the trunk or you can just leave them there wet all the winter. Snow shoes can also offer great performances: you can run, jump, go downhill, they are agile in the woods. If the snow is abundant, you will go faster than during the summer.
