The Itinerary of the Month - June

On foot         Great Interest: Geology Great Interest: Panorama
  • Departure: Castelnuovo Garfagnana
  • Recommended Period: June

3rd June, Castelnuovo Garfagnana, Vattelapesca Secondary School, 2 days and then the summer holidays, and the professor bothers us with the English test; the sun rays filter and make glitter the dust in the air. "Can" or "may", "go" or "going"... a pen nervously taps while the freedom of the summer holidays fills head and lungs… we could go to Rimini in some campsites, or to Cinque Terre by bike, to Paris hitch-hiking… The most important thing is the leave immediately, before knowing the results of the school year, before our parents start with the usual complaints. Excited murmurs among the desks, and the girls? They will catch up with us. Our mind gets lost among heroic tours by bike, wonderful nights on the beach, and the free-smiling-silly faces of the companions. The destination becomes farther and farther: we are going to Paris by bike, over 1,000 km downhill, except a few uphill stretches in the Alps and the Apennines!
