Mt. Acuto, locally called Pizzacuto, dominates Lagastrello basin, westernmost spur of Alpe di Succiso group. Big glacial morphologies have generated several peat bogs and small lakes of great interest. Near the one and only lake of the area, in 1980 Sarzana Mountain Hut was built by the homonymous CAI section. The classical route leaves from the bridge near the dam of Paduli Lake, but we recommend the departure from Lagastrello Pass, exploiting some not very known trails that are of great beauty and naturalistic interest.
