By Car from Milan, Parma

To Reggio Emilia slope: take Autostarda del Sole A1 to Parma. Then take the road SS 513 to Traversatolo. Go ahead crossing San Polo, Ciano, and Vetto, until you reach Castelnovo ne' Monti.

  • Once you get in Castelnovo ne' Monti, you will find the road signs to Pietra di Bismantova and the Triassic Gypsum Formations. Going ahead along this road you will get in Ligonchio, Val d'Ozzola, and Pradarena Pass. From here you will reach the Park territories in Garfagnana: Villacollemandina, San Romano in Garfagnana, and Giucugnano.
  • Beyond Castelnovo ne' Monti, going ahead along SS 63, at the "intermediate" Pass known as Sparavalle, you will find a road leading to the Municipality of Ramiseto, and in particular to Monteventasso, Valle dei Cavalieri, and Lagastrello Pass, connecting the Park territories in Lunigiana (in particular the Municipalities of Comano, Licciana Nardi, and Filattiera) and the territories on the Parma slope.
  • If you do not turn at the junction to Ramiseto, but follow SS 63, you will get in Cervarezza Terme di Busana, a tourist resort housing the temporary offices of the National Park. Then you will also get in the towns of the Municipality of Collagna and in Cerreto Pass: if you go ahead, you will reach the Park territories in Lunigiana, in particular the Municipality of Fivizzano.
  • From Castelnovo ne' Monti, taking SS 63 to Reggio Emilia, before Felina country hamlet you can turn to Villa Minozzo to reach the easternmost locations of the Park in Emilia (Civago, Febbio, Abetina Reale). From Civago, going ahead and crossing Radici Pass, you reach the Park territories in Garfagnana: Villacollemandina, San Romano in Garfagnana, and Giucugnano.

To Parma slope: take the road SP 665 "Massese" to Langhirano and go ahead until you reach loc. Pastorello. At the junction, you can decide whether to go ahead along SP 665 to Monchio delle Corti (Val Cedra-Prato Spilla) or head for Val Parma along the road SP 13 leading to Corniglio. If you want to reach Upper Val Parma (Bosco, Lagdei, Lagoni, Lago Santo), take SP 106 "dei Cento Laghi". To reach Corniglio, instead of taking the exit from A1 in Parma, you can take Autostrada della Cisa A15 leading to La Spezia, exit Berceto, head for Passo del Sillara and get in Bosco di Corniglio, or take the exit Pontremoli and go ahead to Cirone Pass and Bosco di Corniglio.

To Tuscany slope: from Autostrada del Sole A1, in Parma, take Autostrada della Cisa A15 leading to La Spezia and take the exit in loc. Aulla.

  • From Aulla follow the road signs to Cerreto Pass or Lagastrello Pass: you will reach the Park territories in Lunigiana, in particular Fivizzano, Filattiera, Comano, Liccina Nardi.
  • From Aulla continue along SS 63 of Cerreto Pass leading to Reggio Emilia, at Gassano country hamlet turn right to get, after crossing "Foce dei Carpinelli" pass, in the Park territories in Garfagnana, and in particular in the Municipalities of Giucugnano, San Romano in Garfagnana, and Villacollemandina.
