By Car from Modena, Bologna, Verona, Padova

To Reggio Emilia slope: take the exit Modena Nord of Autostrada del Sole A1, then head for Sassuolo; take the road SS n. 467 leading to Radici Pass until you get to Ponte sul Secchia and then go ahead taking the junction leading to Castelnovo ne' Monti.

  • If you take the junction to Villa Minozzo you can reach the easternmost locations of the Emilia slope of the Park (Civago, Febbio, Abetina Reale). From Civago, going ahead and crossing Radici Pass, you will get to the territories of the Park in Garfagnana: Villacollemandina, San Romano in Garfagnana, and Giucugnano.
  • If you take the junction leading to "Fonti di Poiano", you will get to the Triassic Gypsum Formations and reach Pietra di Bismantova. Going ahead along this road you will get in Ligonchio, Val d'Ozzola, and Pradarena Pass. From here you will reach the Park territories in Garfagnana: Villacollemandina, San Romano in Garfagnana, and Giucugnano.
  • If you get in Castelnovo ne' Monti, going ahead along SS 63, at the "intermediate" pass known as Sparavalle, you will find a road leading to the Municipality of Ramiseto as well as to Monteventasso, Valle dei Cavalieri, and Lagastrello Pass. If you go ahead, you will enter the Park territories in Lunigiana and in particular the Municipalities of Comano, Licciana Nardi, and Filattiera.
  • If you do not turn at the junction to Ramiseto, but follow SS 63, you will get in Cervarezza Terme di Busana, a tourist resort housing the temporary offices of the National Park. Then you will also get in the towns of the Municipality of Collagna and in Cerreto Pass: if you go ahead, you will reach the Park territories in Lunigiana, in particular the Municipality of Fivizzano.

To Parma slope: from Autostrada del Sole A1 leading to Milan, take the exit Parma, take the road SP 665 "Massese" leading to Langhirano and go ahead until you reach loc. Pastorello. At the junction, you can go ahead along SP 665 to Monchio delle Corti (Val Cedra-Prato Spilla) or take the SP 13 road to Val Parma, direction Corniglio. If you want to get in Upper Val Parma (Bosco, Lagdei, Lagoni, Lago Santo), take the road SP 106 "dei Cento Laghi". If you want to get in Corniglio, instead of taking the exit Parma, after leaving A1 you can take Autostrada della Cisa A15 heading for La Spezia, take the exit Berceto, head for Sillara Pass, and get in Bosco di Corniglio, or take the exit Pontremoli and go ahead until you reach Cirone Pass and Bosco di Corniglio.

To Lunigiana, in Tuscany: from Autostrada del Sole A1 leading to Milan, when you are in Parma take Autostrada della Cisa A15 leading to La Spezia, exit Aulla. From Aulla, follow the road signs leading to Cerreto of Lagastrello Pass, and you will reach the Park territories in Lunigiana, in particular Fivizzano, Filattiera, Comano, Liccina Nardi.

To Garfagnana, in Tuscany:

  • From Padova and Bologna: take Autostrada del Sole A1 leading to Florence; once you get in Florence, take the highway A11 "Firenze-Mare"; in Lucca, head for Viareggio and reach Livorno Genova A12, follow it towards Genova until the junction to Parma, taking Autostrada della Cisa A15. Exit Aulla.
    • To Lunigiana: from Aulla, follow the road signs to Cerreto or Lagastrello Pass and reach the Park territories in Lunigiana, in particular Fivizzano, Filattiera, Comano, Licciana Nardi.
    • To Garfagnana: from Aulla, following the road SS 63 of Passo del Cerreto leading to Reggio Emilia, at Gassano country hamlet, you can turn right to reach, after crossing "Foce dei Carpinelli", the Park territories in Garfagnana, in particular the Municipalities of Giucugnano, San Romano in Garfagnana, and Villacollemandina.
  • From Verona and Modena: take the exit Modena Nord of Autostrada del Sole A1, then head for Sassuolo: take the road SS n. 467 leading to Radici Pass, then to the Municipalities of Villacollemandina, San Romano in Garfagnana, and Giuncugnano.
